Craig's Birthday Weekend

Yesterday Craig turned 24. This weekend most of the other BYU students left for Delhi and other areas in the north so it has just been us and Peter. We leave for Aruku Valley and Peter is going to Hyderabad on Monday. It's our week off.

Anyway, on Friday we made fried chicken with the staff! They had been wanting to learn how to make KFC chicken, so we did our best. It was a lot of fun. We also made mashed potatoes and biscuits. We made the biscuits in the pressure cooker (again, no oven) and they didn't turn out super well. They still tasted good, but they were harder and crunchier than your typical fluffy American biscuits...

The fried chicken tasted SO good! It really did taste like something you could get in America. I was so proud of us!

Sidhu wanted me to take a picture of him on his bike:

This is the view from the roof of our apartment complex. Here, people use their roofs a lot for drying clothes and things like that and we like to go up sometimes to just look out over everything. This is our neighborhood:

You can see the hill in the distance that we went on last week:

Through those two apartment buildings you can just barely see the ocean! I didn't realize how close we are. I wish my camera was better though so you could see it better.

"Cool Stone" for Craig's birthday! It's basically a copycat of Cold Stone...I'm pretty sure they went online and copy and pasted the font/text and design of Cold Stone. It tasted pretty good too! Craig has made friends with the owner because of talking to him about cricket and he is always happy to see us.

As is custom, our staff bought a cake for Craig's birthday. They almost got his middle name right! : ) It's something they do for all the BYU students who have birthdays. We've had 3 so far.
